age of twenty-three, while still a Jesuit seminarian. One hundred and thirty five years later, in 1726, he was canonized by Pope Benedict XIV in recognition of his saintly, unselfish life.

    Jesuit High School - now Jesuit College Preparatory School - had this heroic individual in mind at its founding in 1942, when it selected Aloysius Gonzaga its patron saint. In 1999 the Jesuit Foundation established the Gonzaga Society to recognize the generosity of those men and women who demonstrate similar devotion to helping others, particularly though their support of the Jesuit Foundation and Jesuit education.

The ultimate society established by the Foundation is reserved to those who cumulatively bestow more than $100,000.00 to the Foundation for its efforts on behalf of Jesuit youth and faculty.
